Due to the lack of current issues, the fact that this is NOT a year to make guideline changes, and the lack of a State Committee meeting to give us information or ask for feedback, I have decided not to hold a follow up spring meeting. We have met the requirements for our 2 meetings this year and I hate for us to meet just to meet (although I do enjoy getting together with all of you). Please get me get me ANY items you do have and we will have a meeting early in October to get everything set for next year.

Information for you to pass along to your leagues:

1. The section finals this year made about $35,000 prior to gym rental costs, staffing costs (security and gate people only) and officials fees.
2. I have put in the reservation for Chico State for next year. At this point there is not a conflict.
3. Next year the NorCal and SoCal tournaments can take up to 16 teams in each bracket based on a formula of the number of teams in each division in each section. The one place this allows the Northern Section more teams is in Division 5 where we could send 4 teams in both boys and girls.
4. With the expanded brackets it should also help our success because we won’t always be playing a #5 seed who was really a #2 or #3 seed who was beaten in their section final.

Again please get me any issues you have for our fall meeting agenda, have a GREAT spring and summer and I hope to see you on the courts.

Take care,
Randy Gilzean
