Some general information for the Northern Section Basketball Championships:

The playoff points are now online at the Northern Section website,
www.cifns.org. Please check to be sure all the records and numbers are accurate. Please also check that your information including and
updated roster are accurate on www.maxpreps.com. You will need to check again as the seeding gets closer, but clearing up all errors now will greatly help the process along. REMEMBER-COACHES ARE RESPONSIBLE TO BE SURE YOUR INFORMATION IS CORRECT. We have had incorrect information in the past and it really causes problems. Please check now and later. |

Any school wishing to opt out of the section playoffs must do so by NOON on Thursday, February 19th. There have been severe penalties put in place if you do not complete all games you qualify for in the Section, NorCal and State Tournaments once you have entered the Section tournament.
Do not assume if you are seeded worse than 12 or 16 in Divisions 4-6 that you will not qualify. Often teams above the cut off point opt out and therefore teams which may not have been in the playoffs end up getting in the bracket. PLEASE-If you do not want to be in the playoffs put it in writing to the Section Office. |

Parking at Chico State has changed. There are NO parking lots on campus which are free on weekdays until 10pm. Chico State was the last California campus to give free parking. For ALL games on Friday, March 6th at Chico State you will need to buy a parking pass if you park in any lot which Chico State controls. In the Stadium/Gym parking lot the purchase station is outside the Baseball Stadium along the 3rd base side. It is an army green box. Parking is $1.00 per hour up to 4 hours. Anything over 4 hours is a day pass for $5.00. You may park for free in the Chico High student lot and walk across the fields. |
