Good afternoon to our State Liaisons and Executive Directors,

I trust you are well. Do doubt everyone is looking forward to spring after the winter we have been enduring.

I wanted to make you aware of contact that you may soon be receiving from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics regarding their new Eligibility Center. The center is set to open in September and NAIA student-athletes enrolling for the 2011-12 school year must be certified by the NAIA Eligibility Center. The NAIA includes over 60,000 student-athletes and the NAIA desires to work closely with high school students, athletics administrators and counselors as a connection to the personal environment of NAIA small-college learning.

The NIAAA supports the NAIA and the positive position that the organization has taken on character based athletic programs. Please pass along to your state membership the information that they share with you in order to better assist those who positively impact our students.

Your communiqué will probably come via Dr. Rob Haworth (rhaworth@naia.org), Vice President for Champions of Character.

Take care and enjoy a good weekend.

Mike
