CIF State to Announce 10 Selected Teams for 2010 State Football Championship
Bowl Games
SACRAMENTO - The 10 teams selected to participate in the 2010 CIF State
Football Championship Bowl Games
presented by Farmers will be announced Sunday, December 12, at the Home
Depot Center in Carson.
The teams will be announced first on www.Facebook.com/CIFstate immediately
after the selection meeting is over. Check
the CIF State Facebook page during the late morning through early afternoon
hours for the announcement because the
selection process can last up to three hours.
A pre-Selection Sunday Show can be seen on KBC Sports.com
(http://www.kbcsports.com/). Start time is noon. KBC
Sports will show video highlights of the possible participating teams. Host
Jeff Kurtz and special guest media members will
give their thoughts on what teams should be selected, and will provide
post-selection analysis.
A press conference and concurrent teleconference announcing the selected
teams will take place at the Home Depot Center
in Suite 6 on the south concourse. CIF Executive Director Marie M. Ishida
and Event Director Ken Gunn will address the
media regarding the selections and the process. The press/teleconference
begins at 3:30pm.
Media members unable to attend the press conference can participate in the
concurrent teleconference. Contact Quwan

As a reminder, only Section Champions are eligible for selection in the
football championship bowl games.
Teams are also selected based on won-loss record, strength of schedule,
head-to-head competition and common opponents.
There are a total of 49 Section champions this year, with 22 from Northern
California and 27 hailing from Southern
California.
The media will have an opportunity to interview up to all 10 participating
head coaches in one setting on Monday,
December 13. Media are invited to a luncheon at the Home Depot
Center-American Express Stadium Club Restaurant from
11 a.m. until noon, and will be allowed to table-hop and speak with the
coaches and other school administrators of any and
all 10 participating teams. Please be aware that coaches are not required to
attend this meeting, so all 10 coaches may not be
in attendance.
NOTE: MEDIA APPLICATIONS DEADLINE IS TUESDAY, DEC. 14. THERE WILL BE NO
LAST-MINUTE CREDENTIALING.
